US History:
  • September 24 -- Students will begin covering Section 1 of Chapter 3.
  • Homework for September 24: Read pages 66 - 72, take outline notes, be prepared for Homework Questions at the beginning of class on Tuesday, September 25. 
  • ALSO -- Students are to complete the Graphic Organizer Activity that was handed out in class (additional copies available in Room A-5).
  • September 25 -- Students were assigned a handout called "The Triumph of Industry," which accompanies Section 1 of Chapter 3. This will be handed in with the Graphic Organizer and Outline Notes at a future date to be determined. 
  • September 26 -- Video: "The Robber Barons" Assignment -- Immigration Game Reading and questions.
  • All this week's work is due on Friday, September 28
  • SEPTEMBER 25 IS A MINIMUM DAY. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, IS A LATE-START WEDNESDAY.
AP Economics:

  • Read and complete outline notes for Chapter 7 (pages 125 - 143)
  • Page 143, answer questions 2, 4, 6, 8, and 11
  • Due date is Thursday, September 27

US History:
  • September 18 -- Students will begin covering Section 4 of Chapter 2.
  • Homework for September 17: Read pages 55 - 59, take outline notes, be prepared for Homework Questions at the beginning of class on Wednesday, September 19. 
  • Homework for September 19: Project Assignment -- The Civil War Amendments
  •  On 8.5 X 11” paper, you are to create a poster which lists and explains the three Civil War Amendments (13th, 14th, and 15th)
  •   Your poster must be illustrated
  •   This is worth 100 points (as a project)
  •   Due date: Friday, September 21
  •   Chapter 2 Test: September 21


AP Economics:

Students test on Chapter 6, Wednesday, September 19

The assignment for the week is:
  • Read and complete outline notes for Chapter 7 (pages 125 - 143)
  • Page 143, answer questions 2, 4, 6, 8, and 11
  • Due date has not yet been determined

US History:
  • September 10 -- Students will begin covering Section 2 of Chapter 2.
  • Homework for September 10: Read pages 42 - 47, take outline notes, be prepared for Homework Questions at the beginning of class on Tuesday, September 11. 
  • ALSO -- Students are to complete HOMEWORK 3 in their packets. These packets and notes will be handed in on Wednesday, September 12.
  • September 11 -- Homework Questions, we begin studying the Civil War with a look at the war's course from the Battle of Bull Run to Antietam. 
  • September 12 Homework: Read and complete Outline Notes on Pages 48 - 50 (up to "War Effects Daily Lives"). There will be a Homework Question on this September 13.
  • September 13: Video on Antietam, no homework
  • September 14: BRING BOOKS TO CLASS -- There will be an in-class assignment to do that requires using the textbook.
  • September 14 Assignment: 
  1. Read and Complete Outline Notes for Section 3, Chapter 2 (pages 50 - 54).
  2. Page 48 -- lower left -- create a timeline as shown to accompany the ENTIRE section.
  3. Page 54 -- Complete the Section Assessment, questions 1 - 6
  4. ALL OF THIS MUST BE HANDED IN TO THE SUBSTITUTE TEACHER BY THE END OF TODAY'S CLASS.
  • No homework over the weekend.
AP Economics:

Week of September 4


US History:
  • September 4 -- Students will begin covering Section 1 of Chapter 2. There will be a packet of work handed out which students are to complete by the end of this chapter and the test, which will be scheduled later.
  • Homework for September 4: Read pages 34 - 41, take outline notes, be prepared for Homework Questions at the beginning of class on Wednesday, September 5. 
  • September 5 -- Continuing Section 1 of Chapter 2. Students should complete HW 2 in their packets tonight. Homework packets will be due at the end of this chapter.

AP Economics:

Students are working on Chapter 3

The assignment is:
  • Read and complete outline notes for the chapter (pages 45 - 62)\
  • Pages 63 - 64, answer questions 3, 6, 8, 9, and 14
  • Due Friday, September 7.
