weeks of october 29 and november 5


US History:
  • October 29 -- Students will begin covering Section 1 of Chapter 5.Page 143: 1, 4, 5, and 6
  • October 30 -- "Mix it Up Day" -- guest teacher Mr. John Bartke. No assignment.
  • October 31 -- Video on the Spanish-American War. No assignment
  • November 1 -- Students read section 2 of Chapter 5. Complete graphic organizer on The Spanish-American War, answer questions 1, 2, 4, and 5, page 150
  • November 2 -- Students will be participating in a school-district administered career interests inventory. No assignment
  • November 5 -- Read Section 3, Chapter 5 (pages 151 - 155), Complete Note-Taking Study Guide handout, answer questions 1, 2, 4, and 5, page 155
  • November 6 -- Read Section 4, Chapter 5 (pages 156 - 163), Complete Note-Taking Study Guide handout, answer questions 1, 2, 4, and 5, page 163
  • November 7 -- Students completed the following table as a study guide for an in-class paragraph scheduled for November 8: Column 1 -- Progressive Ideals -- The Jungle, Settlement Houses, The Temperance Movement, Big Stick Diplomacy, Dollar Diplomacy, The Sixteenth Amendment. Column 2 -- For each of the items listed in Column 1, write some notes on the effects of each on American Society.
  •  November 8 -- In-Class Paragraph on the Progressive Era. We begin Chapter 6 (World War 1)
  •  November 9 -- Chapter 6, Section 1: From Neutrality to War. Students complete Note Taking Study Guide handout (available in class), and answer questions 1 and 2, page 179.

AP Economics:
  • Chapter 11 Homework due Wednesday, October 31
  • Chapter 11 Practice Test Wednesday, October 31
  • Chapter 11 Test Friday, November2
  • November 5 -- BRING BOOKS TO CLASS -- Read pages 71 - 75, answer questions 8, 9, and 10, page 82
  • November 6 -- BRING BOOKS TO CLASS -- Read pages 89 - 94, answer questions 4, 5, 6, and 7, page 102
  • November 7 -- Begin Chapter 12
  • CHAPTER 12 ASSIGNMENT: Read and take Outline Notes, pages 229 - 240. Page 243, answer questions 4, 5, 6, and 11. Due date: Tuesday, November 13.
  • November 9 -- BRING BOOKS TO CLASS
